Future Applications

Applications of the Bendway Weirs are not limited to river bends. The design can be used in near straight reaches of the river to realign the channel, such as in the St. Louis Harbor.

Smaller versions can be utilized on tributaries and small streams throughout the United States. This concept was presented at an international conference in Osaka, Japan (May 1990). Interest was expressed by many countries and an exchange of technical information is underway.
