Boston Bar Mississippi River RM 8.5 to 11.0
The purpose of this study is restore the side channel by reducing the amount of bed load entering the chute and increasing the amount of flow. Also material resulting from dredging may be used to extend sandbar habitat on the downstream end of the island. Additional structure and selective dredging to remove sediment deposits will also be beneficial.
